About Me
Nice to meet you! I’m Taylor, I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design from Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU). When I’m not working on design I love reading, writing music, and writing poetry.
Even in my spare time, I love to engage in activities that keep my creativity right on the surface so I can always find inspiration in what I do. I love creating and working on what I am most passionate about.
Get in touch with me and I will connect our creative minds and design something you will be proud of.
Design Statement
Design is an expressive form of communication that invites imagery, typography, and color interaction to elevate content and context that brings harmony and unity to the forefront of clarity. Visual elements interact and influence each other to form cohesive designs that convey a specific message or purpose that resonates with an audience. Design is not purely aesthetic, it intends to move beyond the surface level and transcend into deeper forms of communication by provoking thoughtful choices that influence the understanding of an audience.
In the design process, initial concepts inform and influence the depth and purpose of the solution. Inspiration is drawn from daily interactions of design; Engaging colors, patterns, and the inherent beauty of nature are where endless opportunities for innovation and creativity lie. While driven by the interactions between form and functionality, this process of creation is also intuitive. There is an inherent sense of balance that comes into play which forces the work to untangle itself from a web of information and be fleshed out in an expressive, simple, and conveyable message.
The work in this portfolio is influenced by designers like Milton Glaser and Seymour Chwast. Their work is characterized by vivid imagery and expressive elements created from their playful yet elegant use of typography and layout. It is through well-executed design that they effectively communicate, and this is what also informs the work that I create.
Design is a powerful vehicle for communication. It is the expressive and intuitive process that I rely on to create and communicate informative processes that allow solutions to emerge with a haste for the user.
